I have been playing and watching sports all my life. Some of my most fond memories come from playing sports, both competitively and recreationally. Coming from a single parent background, my coaches were super impactful on my devlopment and my main inspiration to want to become a coach. 

 

I was working in sales and advanced into management. I never lost the desire to coach sports, but I was feeling a smiliar fulfillment from coaching and developing salespeople. Ironically, I was doing quite a bit of traveling and in 2016 I revisited a list of goals I made awhile back. Most were professional and I realized I wasn't doing anything to reach some of my personal goals, including being involved in sports.

 

This led me to apply for my first sports job as a volunteer flag football coach for the local rec department. I started out with 7 and 8 year olds and moved up to 9 and 10 year olds the following year. In between flag football seasons I coached 8th and 9th graders in a church basketball league.
